A 1056-person opinion poll conducted by Slovak Radio’s Media Research Department in early February suggests that more than three-quarters of those respondents who would vote in a referendum support Slovakia’s entry into the European Union.
Turnout in the referendum in May on Slovakia’s joining the European Union would be 79.9 percent. Of them 77.9 percent would vote for Slovakia’s membership while 17.9 percent were opposed to it. 4.2 percent of the respondents who confirmed they would attend the May referendum could not answer.
In the poll 13.5 percent said they would not come to the polls while 6.6 percent are still undecided on the issue. The latest poll confirmed that support for country’s entry into the European Union is permanently high among the Slovak public.
